Building a dance and music studio was a regular kitchen table conversation at our house. We envisioned creating an all-inclusive space and environment that lifted students, their families and our community up through the Arts. 

Our grand opening was in the summer of 2021.

Nikka Campbell - Artistic Dance Director -Owner

Nikka Campbell is the artistic director and co-owner of All Things Music & Dance. Nikka is a performer, choreographer, and dance educator who carries over 10 years of teaching experience. She is a graduate of Towson University with a BFA in Dance Performance and Dance Education. After graduating from Towson, Nikka began teaching dance in Baltimore County Public schools and at several local dance studios. She is currently a member of the Dance Educators of America and Maryland Dance Education Association. In 2021, Nikka partnered with Kevin Burnes to open All Things Music & Dance to inspire the next generation of dancers and musicians in the Frederick, MD community.

Kevin Burnes - Artistic Music Director-Owner

Kevin is the artistic director and co-owner of All Things Music & Dance. He is an active professional in the music industry as a performer, engineer and instructor for over 40 years. Kevin is a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He began playing guitar at the age of 5. An early showing of prodigious leanings, by the age of 10 Kevin had already completed his first professional recordings and performances. Kevin's work as a freelance solo artist have afforded him numerous opportunities to work and perform with with many notable artists, productions and venues. With studies in Classical, Jazz and a degree in Music Composition, Kevin offers an elite level of instruction in Guitar & Piano Instruction, Theory and Composition, Audio Production. Kevin has owned and operated his own music lesson and audio production studio for the last 25 years. 

Dawn Burnes - Chief of Operations

Dawn brings more than two decades of experience in operations, administration, client relations, and organizational leadership to All Things Music & Dance. With a professional background managing people, processes, client relationships, and day-to-day business operations, she brings that same experience and attention to detail to the studio.

As Chief Studio Experience Officer, Dawn oversees the business and operational side of ATM&D while focusing on the experience of every dancer and family who walks through the doors. From enrollment and communication to studio operations, events, and long-term planning, she works behind the scenes to keep the studio organized, connected, and moving forward.

As an owner, Dawn is passionate about creating an environment where dancers feel supported, families feel welcomed and informed, and the ATM&D team has what they need to do what they do best.

Her goal is simple: to make sure the experience at All Things Music & Dance is just as exceptional off the dance floor as it is on it.

OUR TEAM

Evan West - Assistant Artistic Director 

Evan is our ACRO extraordinaire here at ATM&DCo. Evan is an Acrobatic Arts Certified instructor. Mr. Evan shares his incredible energy and passion for acrobatic dance through his own dance performances and his inspiring and unique teaching style. Evan focuses on all facets of acrobatic dance including aerial skills, tumbling, contortion, hand balancing, and more. 

It is Evan's goal to encourage all kids to take acrobatics class for the mental and physical benefits that it offers. Along with ACRO, Evan has a passion for lyrical, contemporary, ballet, and jazz dance styles. 

Casey Thurston - Assistant Artistic Dance Director

Casey is an award winning choreographer in the competition circuit and professional dancer specializing in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and commercial styles. Her training began at the prestigious Ballet Royale Institute, continuing on to become the first captain of the Salisbury University Poms Dance Team. After college, she went on to train competitive dancers in South Florida, winning several awards, and later moved to New York City to pursue her dream of dancing on a larger scale. After graduating from Broadway Dance Center's training program, she began working as a full-time dancer and choreographer. Her credits include: FKA Twigs, Kat Deluna, Jeremih, Good Morning America, Dancing with the Stars, Broadway across America, and many more. 

With over 12 years of experience as a dance educator, Casey's teaching style focuses on strong technical training and exploring a dancer's individuality and artistry to further the love of dance!

Bria Comer - Choreographer

Bria is a passionate and experienced dance educator who has been teaching since 2004—starting with tap and eventually expanding to include a bit of everything! With a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from James Madison University, Bria brings a rich blend of artistry, technique, and body awareness into every class. She believes that dance is a gift meant to be enjoyed by all ages and is thrilled to be a part of the All Things Music & Dance family.

In addition to her work in the studio, Bria is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant through the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and has been working in pediatric physical therapy since 2019. She also stepped into the world of birth and postpartum work in early 2025, where she combines her deep knowledge of movement and anatomy to support women through one of life’s most powerful journeys.

Aminah Moody - Choreographer

Aminah is a passionate proponent of harnessing the transformative power of dance as a medium for storytelling, mind-body connection, cultural education, energetic alchemy, and the articulation of profound, thought-provoking truths.

Aminah’s foundation encompasses Ballet, Pointe, Partnering, Contemporary, Improvisation, Floor Work, Jazz, West African, Graham, Umfundalai and Dunham, and Horton. She refined her craft training at Jones-Haywood Dance School, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, and SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Aminah’s performed works by Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, Koresh Dance Company, Brucewood Dance Dallas, Philidanco, Momentum Dance Theatre, Gallim Dance Company, Compañía Medusa, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Mo Dance Works. Currently, Aminah is performing, teaching, private coaching, and choreographing all over the DMV. 

Lexis Petry - Choreographer

Lexis brings a lifelong passion for dance, creativity, and performance to All Things Music & Dance. She began dancing at a young age and has continued to grow her experience through studio training, performance, choreography, teaching, and coaching. Lexis has been involved in both studio and dance team environments. She has performed as a member of the Musselman High School Dance Team and the Shepherd Rams Dance Team at Shepherd University. She later stepped into a leadership role as Head Coach of the Shepherd University Dance Team.

Lexis has experience teaching dancers of varying ages and levels and has also worked as a guest choreographer. She loves helping dancers grow in their technique, confidence, and performance while encouraging them to develop their own unique style and love for movement.

Lexis is excited to bring her energy, creativity, and passion for dance to ATM&D and looks forward to being part of each dancer’s growth both inside and outside the studio.

Lauren Tanner - Choreographer

Lauren is a versatile contemporary and commercial dancer and educator based in Maryland. Lauren started dancing at age 5. She grew up dancing competitively at various studios including All things Music and Dance. She was an ambassador for the Academy for the Fine Arts and a member of the Frederick Flying Cows dance team. After graduating Lauren went on to continue her training in commercial and concert dance at the CLI Conservatory in Southampton Massachusetts. 

Currently, Lauren is teaching and choreographing all over Maryland, and hopes to inspire younger dancers to grow their love for dance!

Jordan Reed - Guest Instructor and Choreographer

Jordan has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She began dancing competitively at age 10, receiving many top scores and placements as well as scholarships. Currently, Jordan attends The Academy for the Fine Arts Dance Program for Frederick County Public School. She joined the Senior ATM&D Co. Dance Team, and it has been her home ever since. Jordan’s favorite styles of dance are Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary. She also enjoys jazz, musical theater, and ballet. 

Jordan assists with our junior competition groups, choreographs and teaches beginner dance classes. She strives to be a role model for the younger dancers and shares her love with the younger dancers.
