The All Things Music & Dance Company vision is to offer a venue for all to join and experience the arts. From the novice, hobbyist, intermediate and professional, we offer top tier instruction in our dance and music programs. We are devoted to providing students with comprehensive artistic education that fosters excellence in all forms of dance and music. We strongly believe in making the Arts accessible to everyone. 

We offer dance instruction in genres ranging from contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, tap and creative movement. Along with instruction we have our competitive dance team which consists of three core competition teams – Mini Dance Team, Junior Dance Team and Senior Dance Team.

Our dance classes are appropriately offered in all levels from beginners, intermediate and advanced. We offer special packages, introductory offers, scholarship packages and reduced-rate tuition for multiple family students. We offer group and individual dance instruction in all genres of dance - contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, tap and creative movement.

Competitive Dance Team

Our studio hosts a competitive team. The competitive dance consists of four different teams – Mini Dance Team, Junior Dance Team, Senior Dance Team and Hip Hop Only Team.

Mini Competitive Dance Team- Age 6-9 years old

The Mini Dance Team is selected through audition. Mini Dance Team members will participate in at least 2 competitions a year. There will be opportunity for the mini dance team to participate in duos/trios and solos which may require more travel with the competitive dance team.

Curriculum: Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet classes, Technique/Conditioning, and Contemporary Training: 3+ Hours includes rehearsals

Requirements: Must attend 1 week of Summer Intensive Training, Participation in all dance team rehearsals, Participation in the end of the year dance recital, purchasing required costumes, shoes, and accessories.

Junior Competitive Dane Team- Age 10-13 years old

The Junior Dance Team is selected through audition. Junior Dance Team members will participate in at least 2-3 competitions a year. Although it is not required, we highly encourage the Junior Dance Team to participate in duos/trios and solos.

Curriculum: Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Technique/Conditioning, and Contemporary Training: 4+ Hours includes rehearsal

Requirements: Must attend 1 week of Summer Intensive Training, Participation in all dance team rehearsals, Participation in the end of the year dance recital, Participation in at least 1 dance convention, purchasing required costumes, shoes, and accessories.

Senior Competitive Dance Team- Age 14-18 years old

The Senior Dance Team is selected through audition. Senior Dance Team members will participate in at least 2-3 competitions a year. Although it is not required, we highly encourage the Senior Dance Team to participate in duos/trios and solos.

Curriculum: Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Technique/Conditioning, and Contemporary Training: 5+ Hours includes rehearsals

Music Instruction

Our music program offers instruction in all levels from beginners, intermediate and advanced. With both in-person as well as virtual offerings we cater to meet you where you are. We currently offer individual and group music instruction for guitar and piano. Additionally instruction in Music Theory and Composition. 

Guitar and Piano

Whether you are just starting out or advanced in your instrument and studies, we offer personalized instruction catered to you and your goals taught from working professionals in the field. All ages from 5 to 85 and beyond. 

Theory & Composition

If you are a music creator, or have an interest in making your own music and desire to expand your skills, we offer individual and group instruction for both Music Theory and Composition. Grow your craft of music comprehension and creation with futher in depth studies of how it all works.

Our team 

Nikka Campbell - Artistic Dance Director -Owner
Nikka Campbell is the artistic director and co-owner of All Things Music & Dance. Nikka is a performer, choreographer, and dance educator who carries over 10 years of teaching experience.She is a graduate of Towson University with a BFA in Dance Performance and Dance Education. After graduating from Towson, Nikka began teaching dance in Baltimore County Public schools and at several local dance studios. She is currently a member of the Dance Educators of America and Maryland Dance Education Association. In 2021, Nikka partnered with Kevin Burnes to open All Things Music & Dance to inspire the next generation of dancers and musicians in the Frederick, MD community.

Kevin Burnes - Artistic Music Director-Owner
Kevin is the artistic director and co-owner of All Things Music & Dance. He is an active professional in the music industry as a performer, engineer and instructor for over 40 years. Kevin is a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He began playing guitar at the age of 5. An early showing of prodigious leanings, by the age of 10 Kevin had already completed his first professional recordings and performances. Kevin's work as a freelance solo artist have afforded him numerous opportunities to work and perform with with many notable artists, productions and venues. With studies in Classical, Jazz and a degree in Music Composition, Kevin offers an elite level of instruction in Guitar & Piano Instruction, Theory and Composition, Audio Production. Kevin has owned and operated his own music lesson and audio production studio for the last 25 years. 

Casey Thurston - Instructor and Choreographer
Casey is an award winning choreographer in the competition circuit and professional dancer specializing in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and commercial styles. Her training began at the prestigious Ballet Royale Institute, continuing on to become the first captain of the Salisbury University Poms Dance Team. After college, she went on to train competitive dancers in South Florida, winning several awards, and later moved to New York City to pursue her dream of dancing on a larger scale. After graduating from Broadway Dance Center's training program, she began working as a full-time dancer and choreographer. Her credits include: FKA Twigs, Kat Deluna, Jeremih, Good Morning America, Dancing with the Stars, Broadway across America, and many more. With over 12 years of experience as a dance educator, Casey's teaching style focuses on strong technical training and exploring a dancer's individuality and artistry to further the love of dance!

Leah Niles - Instructor and Choreographer
Leah brings with her a passion for dance. She first found her love for dance as a child from her mother who danced the style of Bélé. Dancer, choreographer and educator, Leah offers 15 years of training in K-Pop, Hip Hop and Pom's. She has been choreographing for local competition dance company’s as well as high school varsity Pom. She continues to pursue her own studies and training, recently under the dance crew - “The Lab”. Leah strives to broaden and inspire all dancers and ultimately help them reach their full potential. 

Evan West - Instructor and Choreographer
Evan is our ACRO extraordinaire here at ATM&DCo. Mr. Evan shares his incredible energy and passion for acrobatic dance through his own dance performances and his inspiring and unique teaching style. Evan focuses on all facets of acrobatic dance including aerial skills, tumbling, contortion, hand balancing, and more. It is Evan's goal to encourage all kids to take acrobatics class for the mental and physical benefits that it offers. Along with ACRO, Evan has a passion for lyrical, contemporary, ballet, and jazz dance styles. 

Elena Laird - Instructor and Choreographer
Elena is a dancer, teacher and choreographer that has over 15 years of dance training. With a concentration in ballet, pointe, and modern, they are also trained in contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, ballroom, and musical theater. Elena has been a member of the CCBC Dance Company for the past two years while pursuing a degree in dance education and performance. Through this program they have had the opportunity to work with The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, Company E, The Trajectory Dance Company, and Towson University. Elena has aspirations to work with The KMR Dance Collective and The Trajectory Dance Company as a full time member in the near future. Elena has over 7 years of dance teaching experience. While making sure all students receive equal opportunities and fundamental training, Elena loves to inspire, impact, and empower students through dance! 

Apollo Baldeh - Instructor and Choreographer
Apollo found dance later in life. His passion was immediate. Dance is where he found a home. Apollo believes that dance, through creativity, gives you the ability to express yourself in ways that words sometimes cannot. He has a very strong passion for K-pop and hip-hop. He continues to train in hip-hop and K-pop as well as contemporary, jazz, and ballet. Apollo made his way to ATM&DCo. as a student. He has always expressed that the family here at the studio helped him find strength and confidence, without judgment. Apollo is excited to help today's youth find that same strength and confidence in themselves through dance. A creative space free of judgement. 

Jordan Reed - Student Instructor and Choreographer
Jordan has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She began dancing competitively at age 10, receiving many top scores and placements as well as scholarships. Currently, Jordan attends The Academy for the Fine Arts Dance Program for Frederick County Public School. She joined the Senior ATMD& Co. Dance Team, and it has been her home ever since. Jordan’s favorite styles of dance are Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary. She also enjoys jazz, musical theater, and ballet. Jordan assists with our junior competition groups, choreographs and teaches beginner dance classes. She strives to be a role model for the younger dancers and shares her love with the younger dancers.
